While the ability to see in four dimensions may sound like a recipe for one of Rube Goldberg’s delightful devices, the taxonomy behind GENR8 Technology Group’s upcoming ELEV8R Active Interface, is real-life science fiction, instead!

The ELEV8R is skilled at grouping and categorization, so everyday data like that seen on a milk container may be processed immediately, in full detail right at the device. This provides a speed of processing and level of granularity to information that is lacking in Seventh Generation (existing) GUI-based systems, which were conceived for computers that we had in the 1970s.

The Eighth Generation ELEV8R Active Interface is based on the GENR8 taxon, a compact digital taxonomy that travels with the player from device to device. Because the design of the GENR8 taxon is four-dimensional by nature, it naturally seeks awareness (knowledge) in four dimensions. Without going into great detail, the four dimensions are perspectives on time, known as past-time, present-time, all-time as well as future-time.

In simple terms this means that the taxonomy acts as a liaison between humans and machines (computers). In more accurate terms your ELEV8R is a personal knowledge device shuttling you around all the internet in a secure little privacy bubble, sharing only what information when and with whom you wish to share it.

GENR8 architecture, which is the background system behind the GENR8 ELEV8R Active Interface system is fundamentally grounded in taxonomy. The reason the ELEV8R is a stable platform highly suitable for dynamic processing is simple: it is based on a stable architecture.

GENR8’s taxonomy is tree-like, or cladistic. (See introductory taxonomy article.) We frequently arrange our data taxonomies with origin at the top with the branches towards the bottom to facilitate reading. This is a matter of preference. (Sometimes also, the diagrams are arranged sideways, so they read from left to right.)

The form of GENR8’s taxonomy is based on a mathematical construct that is harmonic in nature, and quadratic in movement. This relates to the purpose of the ELEV8R which is to serve as a harmonic communications bus for humans with quadratic devices (bodies).

Starting in this article, we begin to describe the general design of the taxonomy and focus on the central two clades, or parallel constructs, which are used to describe any item in the system, that is Service plus Cuisine.

The structure of the GENR8 ELEV8R is based on the number four. Here are the four fundamental clades, or parallel sets, which work in concert to describe data and their relationships:

Theater 1: Commands
Theater 2: Quadrants
Theater 3: Levels
Theater 4: Functions
Service including commercial functions
Cuisine (what it is)
Service levels (how it acts)
Branding Cuisine / Grammar

For easier and more common reference the four main clades in the GENR8 taxonomy are described as Theaters. The suggestion here is that each is a distinct set of interactive experiences. Please note, however, that the taxonomy itself does not preclude UX design from utilizing any particular aspect with another aspect from a different Theater. The visual design of the Predictive Interface is quite distinct from the data architecture.

A central tenet of GENR8 Technology Group’s work is that good taxonomy should make sense when ‘read’ in many directions. (This includes in native form, here in an x, y table, and in implemented, experiential form of the Active Interface. This harmony is achieved through normative placement of central elements in a horological perspective of life, ordered. The outcome of this is that things appear in a manner and order of logic that automatically feels natural, dispelling the myth we can’t do better with digital. This central element in the ELEV8R has been specifically designed to create a normative display of life based on a local perspective. This lends the concept that the ELEV8R may eventually be considered a timepiece more than any other aspect of its myriad components and constituent opportunities.

Items in the ELEV8R’s catalog may always be described in two-part (binary) terms. Following in greater detail is a description of two central clades, theaters two and three. As you may easily discern, each of the clades is further evolved into two pairs of pairs:

This describes the central controls and most importantly central display on the ELEV8R’s secure, lightweight, global dashboard. Theater 1 and Theater 4 are utilized on the exterior margins to control exterior communications and programming functions. Think of the controls like displays on a slot machine. When you change one, everything is reconsidered.

From this central taxonomy, many distinctions and discernments may be addressed almost immediately, those which are not immediately evident will become more so when it is explained that with each of the four rows illustrated above, each also has yet four more rows opening, diagonally, of it.
